Global health is a rather young discipline, which has emerged in recent years from a public health as a distinct field of research and education. It focusses on global interaction between social, political, economic and legal determinations and health. Further-on it aims to develop multi-disciplinary solutions for the medical and societal challenges.
Following its guiding principle of “think global – act local”, for Global Health the link with society and civil society organizations working on improving health is essential.
